Bread baking with Warburtons
Our Lifeskills group enjoyed a real treat when school visitor, Janet Hall of Warburtons visited and demonstrated the art of bread-making.
Pupils learned about the importance of breakfast and a healthy, balanced diet as well as the history behind bread-making. The Warburtons' school programme informs children about the nutritional benefits of bread, how bread is eaten in different cultures and baking bread shows how it is made.
Everyone had fun mixing the dough, watching it rise and experimenting to make different shaped breads. The smell of freshly baked bread wafting along the corridor was delicious and we couldn't wait to take it out of the oven to taste it. Our pupils also had a great treat to take home for mum and dad!
